Job Listing: Disability Support Worker
- Jervis Bay Quality Care is looking for caring Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. JBQC is a new service provider in the Bay and Basin area offering supports to NDIS participants in their homes and in our community.
- Jervis Bay Quality Care is seeking a skilled and motivated Disability Support Worker for regular casual weekday and weekend shifts, with the possibility of part-time permanent. You will possess a kind and compassionate nature and be flexible with availability while being reassured that we as employers will respect your unavailabilities. You will respectfully help our participants maintain choice and control with all of their care requirements. Working With JBQC:
- Flexible Scheduling: You’ll have opportunities to collaborate with us, tailoring your shifts based on availability and your preferences. A positive and healthy work-life balance.
- Appealing Pay Rates: $35 - $45+ per hour depending on experience and position. Broken shift rates honoured, casual loading included.
- Continued Support: Receive continuous support while working with us, with our Directors/Managers available to you everyday to rectify any issues or concerns you may have. Along with regular check-ins to ensure your mental health is being looked after.

- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all key stakeholders; clients, families, guardians, and involved services.
- Work collaboratively within a team.
- Work individually without supervision and with ease.
- Demonstrate person centred and respectful care principles.
- Managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
- Administrative duties i.e., shifts notes and reports.
- Skills, Qualifications, and Desired Criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Disability Support Worker or experience working in the community services sector.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and patience when working with individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
- Essential Criteria:
- Current unrestricted driver’s license.
- Current First Aid certificate, with CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or related field preferred.
- Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive car insurance that you are willing to use to transport Participants.
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Smart Phone and willingness to use for recording post-shift notes.
